Hi!

I’m Jonathan and I will be converting your campervan – a little bit about me and my background and how West Wilts Campers began!

I began my career as an Aeronautical Mechanical Engineer apprentice back in 2008 where I progressed through to become a qualified aircraft mechanical engineer. During my time working in aerospace, I worked on many types of aircraft including Hawks (Red Arrows), Chinooks & Tornados to name a few.

I wasn’t in the military but worked for a few large companies including Boeing and BAE systems that provided aircraft maintenance services for the military fleet.

I remained in the industry for 10 years until I turned my attention & interest to Formula 1. I began working for one of the most renowned Formula 1 teams in history for 4 years in the hydraulics sector, ensuring the cars had reliable hydraulics specialising in the gearbox hydraulics and I’m very pleased to say that during my time there, no hydraulic gearbox faults occurred!

Working in these intense and safety-critical environments for many years has led me to be critical of my own work always ensuring that precision is paramount. Throughout my life and career, attention to detail is always key and has been engrained in me since my early apprentice days.

I loved working in both of these sectors however when my family expanded and we welcomed our little boy into the world, my focus was to improve my work-life balance so I was able to watch him grow up and be around my family much more!

Ever since I was a young boy, I have always had a love of classic cars and have completed a few classic car restorations and in recent years, I have completed camper conversions during my free time before my little one came along. Not often did a day go by when I wasn’t under a classic car or poking my head out of a recently cut roof of a camper!

When my son arrived into the world, I then decided to turn my dream into a reality and start my own camper van conversion business which gives me that work life balance I was craving.

During my spare time when I’m not converting campers’, I enjoy spending time with my young family (including our gorgeous 3 year old black Labrador, Roo!). When we are not off camping or enjoying family life, you’ll find me on the golf course ruining a good walk! Mountain biking and playing the saxophone in my covers band are some of my other hobbies.

As a business I strive to be accessible, with clear and consistent communication with clients and most importantly, honest. I aim to be the family camper conversion company of choice, where safety and honesty and clear communication is of upmost importance.

Can’t wait to hear from you to help create your vision for your camper!
